CBT

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. CBT identifies disordered thought processes and behaviors, then replaces the thoughts and behaviors with healthier cognitions and behaviors. CBT is a great therapy for teenagers & adults.

EMDR

EMDR therapy involves attention to three time periods:  the past, present, and future.  Focus is given to past disturbing memories and related events.  Also, it is given to current situations that cause distress, and to developing the skills and attitudes needed for positive future actions.  EMDR is bi-lateral stimulation of the brain focused on aiding the client in reprocessing negative beliefs and trauma. EMDR works 98% of the time in ridding PTSD symptoms. EMDR is an evidence-based therapy for treating trauma.

OCD/ERP

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) that is specifically designed to treat Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) or other Anxiety Disorders. It involves gradually exposing the individual to feared situations or stimuli. This process aids in preventing compulsive behaviors or anxiety symptoms (panic attacks, anxiety spiraling, acting out of fear etc). ERP is the gold standard for treating OCD and anxiety disorders.

Perinatal Services

Perinatal mental health refers to a woman’s mental health during pregnancy and during the postpartum period. Therapy during this season of life can be helpful for both parents as they navigate the transition to life with a child. Specific issues of the childbearing years can include the decision of whether to become a parent, struggles with infertility, pregnancy loss, infant loss, and termination, pregnancy and emotional health, postpartum reactions including stress, anxiety, and depression, and early parenting issues.
